Der Dezember ist gestartet und das Jahr neigt sich langsam wieder seinem frostigen Ende zu. An diesem Wochenende werden wir jedoch noch mit zwei Game-Events beglückt. Zum einen starten heute Abend (um 3:00 Uhr, Pre-Show ab 2:30 Uhr unserer Zeit) The Game Awards von und mit Geoff Keighley. Dieser hat bereits einige Weltpremieren in Aussicht gestellt und versprochen, dass man sich in diesem Jahr mehr auf Gameplay konzentrieren möchte. Neben Hideo Kojima dürften sich viele auch auf neues Gameplay zu Mass Effect: Andromeda, Zelda: Breath of the Wild und The Walking Dead: Season 3 freuen, das im Vorfeld bereits bestätigt wurde. Außerdem stellen die Macher von Shovel Knight, Yacht Club Games, ihr neues Projekt vor. Natürlich wird die Show aus Los Angeles auch direkt als Livestream übertragen. Am 3. und 4. Dezember steht dann die PlayStation Experience 2016 auf dem Programm.

The Game Awards 2016 will air live across a multitude of platforms and gaming services on December 1st. The show will be available to watch live globally across all desktop, mobile and console devices.

The Game Awards, created by Geoff Keighley, is an annual awards ceremony to honor outstanding artistic, technical and gameplay achievements in the video game industry. Spanning console, mobile and PC gaming, as well as eSports, The Game Awards is the first of a new breed of award shows, built from the ground up exclusively for global digital and streaming platforms.

The game awards is guided by an advisory board that includes the executive leadership teams from Activision (Eric Hirshberg, CEO), AMD (Dr. Lisa Su, CEO), Electronic Arts (Peter Moore, CCO), Microsoft (Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox), Nintendo of America (Reggie Fils-Aime, President), Rockstar Games, Sony Interactive Entertainment (Shawn Layden, Chairman, SIE Worldwide Studios), Telltale Games (Steve Allison, SVP Publishing), Ubisoft (Yves Guillemot, CEO), Valve and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (David Haddad, President). The advisory board is not involved in the selection of nominees or winners, and learns of the winners at the same time of the public, live at the Awards ceremony.

    Hab jetzt die Show selbst nicht geschaut, aber was als Trailer & News im nachhinein abgefallen ist, kann ja soviel nicht passiert sein =)

    Angeschaut habe ich es mir ebenfalls nicht aber im Nachhinein bin ich mit der Ankündigung zu Bulletstorm (einziger Hypekiller ist der angebliche Vollpreis für den Re-Realease) und dem DLC zu Shovel Knight sehr zufrieden. Letzteres muss ich mir endlich einmal selber zulegen (bislang habe ich es nur via family sharing gespielt).

    Was die eigentlich Award-Verleihung angeht ist mir das Resultat aber zugegeben recht gleichgültig
